It was another magical and memorable night down at Norwood as The Beavers made it through to their first ever League Cup Final by knocking out this season's Premier Division Champions, Silsden AFC, 3-2 in a thrilling contest.
It’s nights like these when we reflect on how far we have come as a Club. Just three seasons ago we were playing in the Humber Premier League and now we are in our first NCEL JPC Construction League Cup Final, and we have made the Play Offs in consecutive seasons!
It was all looking relatively comfortable at half time as we went into the break 2-0 up thanks to goals from Eddy Birch and Cam Connelly in the last 10 minutes or so of the half.
But Silsden haven't become this season's Premier Division Champions by accident, they're a formidable team, and back they came in the 2nd half, scoring after 54 and 79 minutes to make it all square, and set the game up for a nervy and exciting finale.
Thankfully it was us who were able to clinch it, Cam Connelly slotting home his second in the dying minutes to make it 3-2 and put us through to our first ever Final.
A superb evening as our Club keeps reaching new heights.
